Does a person have to pay child support? (Brian Schmalbach)
This question usually gets asked a lot when people are trying to agree to the terms of their order. And it’s a bit tricky because courts in general believe the law says that if a parent has less than fifty percent of the time with the child, they have to pay support. Now you can get creative in the ways that you can pay it in the form of whether it’s child support in general, extracurricular activities, school clothing’s, but generally speaking, some kind of support will be likely ordered by the court if you have less than fifty percent of the time with the child.
